Killingworth Town Website Now Online
Residents can now find information on the town by visiting www.townofkillingworth.com

More than a year in the making and long overdue, town officials in Killingworth today flipped the switch on the town's new official website.
Found at the URL http://www.townofkillingworth.com, the website provides residents with information about the town, including a calendar of events, meeting minutes, various town forms and applications and emergency information.
"We're late, but our quality is really high," First Selectman Cathy Iino said about the outcome of the site, which will be administered by Dawn Mooney, the town's assistant town clerk.

The website was created and designed by Killingworth resident Peg Scofield, who owns Purple Dog Web Productions and also runs the popular site killingworthtoday.com, which posts events, photos and news stories of Killingworth.
"The Chamber of Commerce has served as the town website, so one of the tasks the town has is to get the word out," Scofield said, while adding that the job had some challenges.

"Because there was no existing website there was lot of information to be gathered. Like any project it stops and starts," she said.
Iino responded to criticism that the town had overpaid for the website by explaining that the town expected to pay about $5,500 in total.
"The website was not to exceed $9,999. That's how we budgeted for it. I did expect to have it up a lot earlier, [but] it'll still be really useful for our townspeople and allow us to get out information to people in a more timely fashion," she said.
Iino said town historian Thomas Lentz provided historical photos for the backdrop of the website.
"They're very interesting. I especially like this one," Lino said while pointing out the homepage of the First Selectman, which includes a photograph of Cowboy Valley.
