Letter to the Editor: Fab Four Have Been Fun to Watch

The Coginchaug girls' basketball team has been led by four seniors during another successful season.

So what words would best describe this Coginchaug girls' basketball team senior class? Champions!

Andrea Braga, Sam Mancinelli, Lauren Esposito and Audrey Biesak are the fab four of this class.

Andrea is a very scrappy player who plays on both the Varsity and JV team. When she's out there on the court she always gives 100-percent effort and no matter what the situation is you can count on seeing a smile on her at all times.

Lauren "Lo" Esposito has become one of the best shooters the Coginchaug girls' team has ever seen. Lauren, like all of the seniors, is a multisport athlete. In fact, Esposito plays three different sports during the school year including soccer and her favorite sport, softball.

Audrey Biesak has had a record breaking season. She became only the second Lady Blue Devil to score 1,000 points in her career. She's a leader, a pure shooter and a great teammate.

Sam Mancinelli showed fans again this season that she can effortlessly break through defenses like they weren't even there. She also plays great defense.

When I recently asked the seniors what their most memorable moment in their four years together was, they all said winning the Shoreline Title and cutting down the nets in front of the home crowd last year. It hadnt been done since 1972.

There are two games remaining on the regular season schedule (both home games), so if you haven't come out to cheer on these Blue Devils don't miss your chance. Tip-off tonight against East Hampton is 7 p.m. at Coginchaug High School.

Lets make sure to let the seniors no how much they have meant to us. THANK YOU! ANGE, AUDGE SAM and ESPO!
