Did you catch the CT reference?
You’ve got to love the Connecticut references on TV shows! Sometimes they’re spot on. Sometimes they are way off. But they’re always enjoyable!
Remember when Peter Griffin mentioned Manchester in Family Guy?
During “The Milk and Honey Route” episode of Mad Men that aired on Sunday, May 10, Middlefield’s Lyman Orchards got a shout-out and fans of the show and the orchard took to Twitter to talk about it.

According to this Mad Men script synopsis, the dialogue went something like this:
“I got stinged.”
“Oh, sweetheart.”
“We were up at Lyman Orchards.”
“It’s mostly bees.”
“Daddy put toothpaste on it.”
Of Course There Are Bees
Lyman Orchards responded with this funny tweet:
“Of course the bees are going to be @LymanOrchards, @MadMen_AMC! What else would pollinate all 37,000 Apple trees?!? #madmen”
The love for Lyman kept pouring in.
“Mad Men just summed up my childhood last night. Huge shoutout to a bee-filled Lyman Orchards & Friendly’s for making me into the person I am,” Jenn Noyes tweeted.
Chris Gorski tweeted to @randomscreename and said: “Also they name dropped Lyman Orchards. Place is legit. Their pie is amazing.”
