Lyman Orchards Leading the Charge in Women's Golf Revolution
Lyman Orchards' new Golf Center has established itself as an influential leader in the revolution of Ladies' Golf.

A round of golf is a fantastic opportunity to have fun, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and remove yourself from the stress of daily life. With a steady increase of women showing interest in golfing, Lyman Orchards Golf Club is proudly offering opportunities that allow these ladies to take advantage of the sport, and acquire skills that last a lifetime. Through instructional programs and both competitive and non-competitive leagues, Lyman Orchardsβ new Golf Center has established itself as an influential leader in the revolution of Ladiesβ Golf.
Over the past two seasons, more than 1,000 women have learned to play golf at The Golf Center. In early April, a Ladiesβ Only Open House was held at the Lyman Orchards Golf Club for any women interested in learning the game. Nearly 100 golfers and potential golfers attended this event, and, of those, 87 of them signed up for programming. The spring instructional offerings are nearly sold out, with over 200 women enrolled. Lock in your spot today for our June classes.
βWe are thrilled that so many women are getting into this great game,β said Jason Beffert, general manager, Lyman Orchards Golf Club. βThe interest in womenβs golf is increasing at a rapid rate, and we are proud to offer a variety of opportunities for these women to succeed in learning and playing the game. More importantly, our golfers tell us that they are having fun and making new friends while they are learning to play.β

Led by LPGA Teaching Professional Marissa Kulig, Lyman Orchardsβ Golf program is the perfect place to start for any woman who is golfing for the first time. Focused on the fundamentals of the game such as full swing, short game and putting, this program is a fun, relaxed approach to learning the game. These classes are held for five consecutive weeks and are priced beginning at just $119.
βThe Golf Fore Women program at Lyman Orchards could not be more aptly named,β said Jessica Parchman, a satisfied participant. βThis program not only accommodates women in a previously male dominated game by creating a βyou can do thisβ atmosphere, but shows βhow you can do itβ through a strong core of fundamentals and progressive instructional clinics that lay out a clear course of action to achieve your goals.

βMarissa is a role model, admired and respected for her talent and obvious accomplishments but also loved by her students for the personal investment she makes in their success,β Parchman continued. βShe is a tireless teacher and cheerleader with incredible patience and an ability to encourage. After a particularly bad shot I remember Marissa saying βwell...you made contact ...and it went forward!ββ
After the completion of this course, Lyman Golf Club offers a variety of other instructional programs to perfect all the various nuances that make golf unique and enjoyable. These clinics take place at The Golf Center, one of the most advanced golf learning facilities in the Northeast. The hands-on classes are taught by dedicated LPGA and PGA instructors who personalize each session to ensure students continually improve playing skills.
Those looking to fire up their competitive spirit are invited to join one of the Lyman Orchardsβ Ladiesβ Leagues. Beginner Leagues are offered in both the morning and afternoon, and feature minimal scoring. The purpose of these leagues is to offer a low-pressure opportunity to get out on a course and play rounds on our regionally recognized par 3 golf course. For those ladies looking to challenge their game, advanced 9-hole leagues are available on the Jones and Player courses for any golfer looking to take their game to the next level. With nearly 100 women already signed up, these leagues are a popular choice.
Tuesday, June 7th is National Womenβs Golf Day and Lyman Orchards has a Golf Fore Fun Womenβs Scramble planned for its Robert Trent Jones-designed course beginning at 5:30pm. This two-hour event is a non-competitive scramble and is open to women golfers of all capabilities. The round includes longest drive and closest to the pin contests and will be followed by dinner and raffles.
