Lyman Orchards Strawberry Fest and Golf Center Grand Opening Today

Saturday will be a landmark day of celebration at Lyman Orchards. The new Lyman Golf Center's grand opening, and summer's first fruit crop, will both be celebrated with special events, entertainment, and plenty of taste treats. 

Lyman's 12th Annual Strawberry Fest will feature Strawberries by the bucketful, one of the most delicious food bargains of the year! Bring the whole family and enjoy a day of Pick-Your-Own fun, or find a wide variety of field-fresh strawberries on sale at the Apple Barrel market, located at the heart of Connecticut's Sweet Spot, the 1,100-acre Lyman family farm in Middlefield. 

Enjoy Breakfast on the Deck of the Apple Barrel market, free food samples, strawberry-focused menu items and free recipes, as well as fresh pies, apple cider donuts, muffins, cookies, breads, pastries, and more, all baked fresh in Lyman's farm-kitchen bakery.

Also planned is a rousing country music performance on the Apple Barrel deck by the Monthei Brothers Band. Other family activities include free face painting for children, free raffles, pie eating contests, horse-drawn wagon rides through the scenic orchard hills, and Pony Rides for the kids. 

Another Lyman celebration will be launched with a 10:30am ribbon-cutting to officially open the new Lyman Golf Center and Apple Nine Course. Fun opening day events will include an amazing golf trick-shot performance, golf merchandise demonstrations, and golf clinics for all ages. Big prizes are also in play throughout the day! Some lucky attendees will be chosen to putt for a chance to win $10,000! Lucky Golfers playing the Apple Nine Course will have a chance to walk away with Hole-In-One prizes like a HDTV, and trips for two to Las Vegas, Hawaii and Mexico on selected holes.  

There will also be a longest drive contest for a Free Season Pass to the New Golf Center Driving Range in  Adult, Teen (13 to 17) and Junior (12 and under) categories.
