Middlefield School Teacher-Librarian Receives National Honor

MIDDLEFIELD, CT - Jenny Lussier, a teacher-librarian at Middlefield's John Lyman and Brewster Elementary schools, was recently honored for her achievement and leadership with the Librarians Network Primary Award from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
To win the award, Lussier was judged on the following criteria:
- Use of technology to help students develop higher order 21st century skills.
- Strong, clear explanation of a successful collaborative technology project.
- Reflection and recommendations for similar future projects, as well as ability to replicate the project.
- Evidence that the librarian is a technology leader in their school setting.
- Ample support from the school administration and staff for the school's library program.
- The nominee's work may be used as a model for colleagues.
- The nominee's work reflects the mission and purpose of ISTE.
ISTE is the "premier nonprofit organization serving educators and education leaders committed to empowering connected learners in a connected world. ISTE serves more than 100,000 education stakeholders throughout the world."
