Middletown once encompassed the present day towns of East Hampton, Portland, Cromwell, Middlefield, and a portion of Berlin. East of the river and the piece of Berlin broke away in the 18th century, Cromwell in 1851, and Middlefield in 1866. Middlefield is hosting a number of events to mark its sesquicentennial including a parade on Saturday, June 4 at 10 am. A listing of the various events can be found at this link:
www.middlefieldparkandrecreation.com. I do hope that you will be able to help the residents of this daughter town celebrate this important milestone.
