Middlefield DUI Checkpoint Coming Up This Week

Troop F is conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, Sept. 25. Read on for more details.

Connecticut State Police Troop F, Westbrook Barracks, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday Sept. 25, in Middlefield during the evening hours.

State troopers from Troop F and the State Police Traffic Services Unit will be conducting this sobriety checkpoint in an effort to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for motorists.

Lt. Arthur K. Goodale, Commanding Officer of Troop F, advised motorists that in addition to aggressive enforcement of the drunk driving laws of this state, state troopers will be strictly enforcing Connecticut’s seatbelt and distracted driving laws, as well as other motor vehicle laws during this enforcement operation.

Excessive speed, intoxicated drivers and the lack of seat belt usage needlessly claim the lives of motorists on Connecticut roadways every year. Troopers will continue to utilize all of the resources at their disposal to identify operators who violate these laws and will take strict enforcement action against them.
