Public works crews are clearing roads where it is safe to do so.

August 5, 2020

This is Laura Francis, First Selectman of the Town of Durham. The storm yesterday caused extensive damage. Trees and wires are down, some blocking roads. Over 50% of Durham customers are without power. The Emergency Operations Center has been activated and public safety personnel are coordinating emergency response. Durham Public Works crews are clearing roads where it is safe to do so. Please do not attempt to clear any trees or branches near power lines. Crews will be working overnight but please be prepared for a multi-day restoration. Call 911 for emergencies and call the storm line at 860 343-6735 to report any non-emergency storm related issues. Call Eversource directly for restoration information at 800-286-2000. Thank you for your attention. Please stay safe.
