Motor Vehicle Thefts Reported In Durham/Middlefield

There has been an increase in thefts from both towns.

DURHAM, CT — There has been a sharp increase in motor vehicle thefts in both Durham and Middlefield. All cars that were taken were unlocked with either keys in the ignition or visible and accessible to thieves, police said.

Several vehicles have been taken since the beginning of the year, according to the Middletown Press.

Sometimes thieves entered through an open garage door to access the vehicle.
