What You Can Expect
When we work with our community partners in Durham, we know we’re in good company. We’ve been working closely with Durham first responders and local officials in advance of this project and they are fully aware of our work.
• Where We’ll Be Working – Expect to see Eversource crews working in Durham at the intersection of Route 68 and Route 17.
• Work Hours - Construction activities will begin around 8 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
*Please note that our work is weather dependent and subject to change. Once the procedure is underway, it cannot be interrupted. In the event of inclement weather, we will reschedule to each following day until we are able to complete our work.
• What We’ll Be Doing – We’re activating a section of the natural gas pipeline and placing it into service. Eversource natural gas experts will do this through a carefully controlled and supervised release of a small amount of natural gas.
• What You May Notice - The day of the procedure there will be a controlled release of natural gas that will have a loud whooshing sound. You may also smell the odorant that we add to natural gas for safety, which has the aroma of rotten eggs. This is a normal part of the procedure.
Our Commitment to You
