
MIDDLETOWN, CT - Joseph Congdon, 83, of Middletown, beloved husband of Marlene (Serra) Congdon, died peacefully on Friday October 27, 2017 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell. He was born in Middletown on August 8, 1934, son of the late Robert and Gladys (Mount) Congdon. Joseph worked for many contractors driving trucks and heavy equipment, retiring from American Contractors. He always said “I’m a farmer at heart.” His favorite ways to spend time were reading, dining out, repairing antique radios, camping traveling, watching football and NASCAR.
Joseph is survived by his wife of forty one years, Marlene, his brother James Congdon and his wife Dolly; sisters, Mildred Congdon, Debora Rybczyk and her husband Marty, and Sandra Munson and her husband Richard; daughter, Linda Congdon, sons, Joseph Congdon, Bobby Congdon, Mark Congdon and his wife Nancy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, David Congdon and sister, Lynnette Dower.
We would like to especially thank, our nephew, Gary Shumbo for all the fun years we had together and his loving care.

Joe’s wishes were no funeral services and wake. Burial was in Miner Cemetery, Middletown.
