Raises Considered in Middlefield for Several Non-Union Officials: Report
The Tax Collector, Board of Selectmen and Town Clerk positions are among those in line for potential increases.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT — The Middlefield Board of Selectmen, Tax Collector and Town Clerk reportedly are among the officials who could receive raises, following recent approval from the town's Board of Finance.
The Meriden Record-Journal writes that those non-union officials, and a few others, were considered for raises to bring their salaries in line with similar positions in other small communities in the area.
Combined the salary increases would total about $25,000, including a bump of more than $8,200 for the First Selectman and nearly $6,500 for the Town Clerk position. Residents would have to vote to approve the final package, but when such a vote might be called has not been decided.
