Real Estate & Person Property Taxes Notice For Middlefield/Rockfall Residents

The final date to pay these taxes is close of business on Feb. 1.

LEGAL NOTICE: is hereby given that the Middlefield/Rockfall Taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2019 is due and payable. The second installment for Real Estate and Personal Property taxes are due January 1, 2021. Motor Vehicle Supplement taxes are due in full January 1, 2021. The final date to pay these taxes is close of business February 1, 2021. Payments received after February 1, 2021 will be posted delinquent. Envelopes received with a postmarked of February 1st or prior are posted as paid on time. Payments received from banks have NO postmark. If they are received after February 1st they are delinquent.

Delinquent Interest accrues from the due date of January 1st, 2021. Therefore are subject to interest charged at 1.5% per month, 18% per anum with a minimum interest of $2.00, until the same is paid in full. No other bills will be mailed. Please send appropriate stub with payment. If receipt is requested, send the whole bill along with a self-addressed stamped envelope. No receipts will be sent otherwise.

Missing bills: If you cannot find your bill, you can go to middlefieldct.org, click on β€œView and Pay”, then β€œView and Pay” again to reprint your bill or to check the status of payment. You call also call the office for the amount or a new bill.

Mail payments to: Town of Middlefield, P O Box 179, Middlefield, CT. 06455. A night drop box is available at 393 Jackson Hill Road, Middlefield. Payments may be made in person at the window at 393 Jackson Hill Road, Middlefield. Office hours for the month of January are 9am-5pm Monday, 9am-4pm Tuesday-Thursday, and 9am-3pm Friday. As of February 2nd the office hours will go back to Monday thru Friday 9am-1:30pm.

Notification to the DMV: All delinquent Motor Vehicle bills will be reported to the DMV February 2nd, 2021.

Middlefield/Rockfall Credit Card payments online ONLY: You can make these payments from your personal computer. NO credit card payments can be made in the office or over the phone. Go to middlefieldct.org and follow the prompts. A 2.5% convenience fee will be added to your bill for using your Credit/Debit card. A $2.00 convenience fee will be added if you pay by Eck. Credit/Debit card and Eck payments are received and processed the day after payment is made, however payment is not received until 3 day following processing. Credit/Debit card and Eck payments made for delinquent Motor Vehicle taxes needing a DMV releases are released 3 business days after payment is processed. Cash or bank checks are the only forms of payment accepted for delinquent Motor Vehicle Taxes needing an immediate DMV release.
