Referendum Date Set In Durham
Residents are being asked to approve funding for $6.9 million for Region 13 school upgrades.
From The Town of Durham: A referendum vote of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Durham, Connecticut will be held in the Town of Durham at the following polling places:Korn School, 144 Pickett Lane, Durham, CT and simultaneously in the other Town in Regional School District No. 13 on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. pursuant to Section 10-56 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Revision of 1958, as amended, upon a resolution adopted by the Regional Board of Education at meeting held April 3, 2019, which will be placed on the ballots as the following question: SHALL REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 13 APPROPRIATE $6,900,000 FOR DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF VARIOUS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO DISTRICT SCHOOLS, FACILITIES AND PROPERTY, AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF BONDS AND TEMPORARY NOTES IN THE SAME AMOUNT TO FINANCE THE APPROPRIATION?
Voters approving the resolution shall vote "Yes" and those opposing the resolution shall vote "No". Absentee ballots will be available from the Town Clerk's office. The full text of the resolution adopted by the Regional Board of Education is on file and available for public inspection in the Town Clerk's office.Dated at Durham, Connecticut this 22nd day of April, 2019.
