Region 13 Schools Rank Among Top 40 in Connecticut

Niche.com compiled its list of the top 100 school districts in the United States and five Connecticut schools make the list.

The Edgemont Union Free School District in Greenburg, N.Y. was voted No. 1 in the nation. Connecticut school districts ranked in the top 100 include: New Canaan at 19th, Westport at 30th, Darien at 73rd, Ridgefield at 79th, Glastonbury at 87th and Simsbury at 100th.

The website ranked the Top 100 districts based on factors such as the quality of its academics, its teachers, extracurriculars and activities and student culture and diversity.

According to Niche, it “ranks more than 100,000 public and private schools and districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents.”

A separate list was also compiled ranking the top 100 school districts in Connecticut.

Region 13 of Middlefield ranked as the 35th best school system in the state.
