Rep. Kokoruda Reads to Durham Students
State Representative Noreen Kokoruda Reads to Local School Children for Read Across America.

From Connecticut General Assembly: State Representative Noreen Kokoruda (R-101) read βThe Polar Bear that Couldnβt, Wouldnβt Swimβ to Mrs. Bystrekβs 3rd grade class at Brewster Elementary School in Durham on Friday, March 2, 2018. Kokoruda read a book that discussed the importance of water safety and donated the book to the classroom afterwards.
βBecoming a skilled reader is essential to success in life as an adult,β said Rep. Kokoruda. βI really had a great time reading to students and am grateful for the visit. I applaud the teachers and administrators for their dedication and wish all of the students much success as they pursue their education.β
Read Across America is an annual event held on Dr. Theodor Seuss Geiselβs birthday, March 2nd, to commemorate his lifeβs work and his ability to captivate young audiences with his unique childrenβs books.
