Reward Offered in Middlefield for Return of Library Statue

The bust of William Shakespeare has been missing from the Levi E. Coe Library since April.

MIDDLEFIELD, CT β€” A reward of $150 is being offered for information that leads to the return of the bust of William Shakespeare that has been missing since late-April from the garden of the Levi E. Coe Library in Middlefield.

Middlefield's Mid-Lea Garden Club is offering the reward, and are asking that anyone with information about the statue contact town Resident State Police Trooper Brendan Rea at 860-349-9685 or email brendan.rea@ct.gov.

The garden where the bust was located was created by Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts in 1993, and built with plants that are mentioned in works by Shakespeare.
