One of the most thrilling parts of the Durham Fair is the Midway, which is starting construction today. The Durham Fair is working hand in hand with Rockwell Amusements in creating this fun and energy packed area of the Fair. Connecticut law requires the amusement company to inspect and approve their rides which is then inspected and signed off by a state inspector. Once that happens, the ride is considered good to operate.
This year, as an added safety measure, the Durham Fair and Rockwell Amusements will have an independent safety inspector take another look. Only after they have signed off, can the ride open. Additional inspections are done throughout the Fair. According to Daniel Miramant, President of the Durham Fair Assocation, “ While our goal is to provide a memorable Fair experience, public safety is our top priority.”
