Share Your Memories: Powder Ridge Rock Festival

Middlesex Historical Society to hold discussion on rock concert next month

More than 40 years after Middlefield became a legendary location in rock n' roll lore, the story of the Powder Ridge Rock Festival will be retold.

On March 10, the Middlesex Historical Society will host an open discussion on the festival at 7 p.m. at the Hubbard Room of the Russell Library in Middletown.

"The only musician who appeared was Melanie Safka, who was smuggled on site in disguise and performed with a sound system jerry-rigged from a generator on a Mister Softee truck. You can learn more about Melanie’s performance and many other unusual incidents," the historical society's website says.
