Special Town Meeting July 19 in Middlefield

Middlefield, CT - A Special Town Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on July 19 to approve the sale of a town-owned parcel of land, First Selectman Edward P. Bailey announced.

The property sits on Lake Shore Drive and measures 1,377 square feet and is adjacent to property owned by Mark E. and Sandra M. Meadows.

Middlefield's Board of Selectmen recently approved the sale of the property for the sum of $1.00 plus Town legal fees, and are looking for town approval.

Below is the text of the legal notice about the meeting, posted on the town's website:

NOTICE is hereby given that a Special Town Meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of Middlefield, will be held in Meeting Room 1 at the Middlefield Community center, 405 Main Street, in said Town of Middlefield, Connecticut, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday July 19th, 2016 for the following purposes to wit:

1. To act on the Board of Selectmen proposal for the sale for the sum of $1.00 plus Town legal fees, of a certain 1,377 square foot strip of Town owned property which is between Lake Shore Drive and the plot shown on Map 10.1, Lot 140. This is shown on a plot plan drawn by Bascom & Benjamin, dated 5/25/2016 and titled: Property of Mark E. and Sandra M. Meadows.

At this meeting any and all citizens may appear and be heard, and written communications will be received.
Copy of the map referenced is available at the Town Clerks Office.
