Spending Increase In Budget Is Not Bad News In Durham: Report
Details about the proposed budget have been released.

DURHAM, CT — Durham's proposed budget for fiscal 2019-20 is $7.33 million, which is a 4.6 percent increase, according to the Record Journal. The good news is that taxes would remain stable because the Region 13 proposed schools budget of $34.8 million is actually a 2 percent decrease overall, the Record Journal reports.
The average homeowner with an assessed residence of $150,000 would pay $5,475 in taxes.
Some capital funds will be spent on improving the town's communication system, $276,760, $68,000 to replace tennis courts at Allyn Brook Park, and $10,000 for new playground equipment.
