in the Greater Middletown area to participate in the 34th Annual Walk Against Hunger

St. Vincent de Paul Middletown is recruiting teams in the Greater Middletown area to participate in the 34th Annual Walk Against Hunger, the largest anti-hunger fundraising event in Connecticut. The event is hosted by Foodshare, the regional food bank, and St. Vincent de Paul Middletown participates each year to raise funds for their programs.
This yearβs event will take place on Sunday May 7th, 2017 at Liam E. McGee Memorial Park (140 Garden Street, Hartford). Free event parking is provided at The Hartford Insurance lot (690 Asylum Avenue). Walkers should arrive by 1:00 pm on May 7th for check-in and pre-Walk entertainment. The 2.5-mile walk steps off, rain or shine, at 2:00 pm.

There are several ways to get involved: become a team captain and form a team β ask your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors to walk with you β or join our St. Vincent de Paul Middletown team. If you canβt join us on May 7th, consider sponsoring a walker or register as a βspirit walkerβ and fundraise online.
St. Vincent de Paul Middletownβs Soup Kitchen and Amazing Grace Food Pantry continue to experience unprecedented demand for nutritious food, together providing approximately 340,000 meals to residents in the Middletown area last year. The Walk Against Hunger is the agencyβs largest annual fundraiser and with decreases in funding from so many other sources, it is more important than ever to keeping up with the demand for food right here in Middletown. Last year over 100 people participated in the Walk Against Hunger on behalf of St. Vincent de Paul Middletown and raised over $34,000 for the agency and its programs.
