Taste of Durham; Valentine's Cupcakes; Book Lovers Circle Offered at Durham Library

The Durham Library will also host snowy day stories, movie matinees and more.

Taste of Durham – A Community Party, Saturday, February 7 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Library, $35 per person. Hosted by PALS to benefit the Durham Public Library.

Programs for Kids:

Snowy Day Stories (2 — 5 years) Monday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. Winter stories, games, and crafts. Registration required.

Valentine Craft Program (6 — 10 years) Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. Create an old-fashioned Valentine’s Day card for someone special! Registration required.

Programs for Teens:

Teen Advisory Group (ages 12-18) Saturday, Feb. 7th from 11:00 a.m.-12:00pm. The TAG meets once a month to discuss how to improve the library for young adults. Come join our lively discussion!

Valentine’s Cupcakes (ages 12-18). Friday, Feb. 13 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Decorate sweet treats for Valentine’s Day!

Programs for Adults:

Book Lover’s Circle. Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Join the discussion! Book Lovers’ Circle will discuss The Alienist by Caleb Carr. Copies of the book are available at the Library. All are invited.

Movie Matinees. Thursdays at 1:30pm. This film series is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Upcoming films, Feb 5th: The Grand Budapest Hotel starring Ralph Fiennes & F. Murray Abraham; Feb 12th: Frank starring Michael Fassbender & Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Introduction to Genealogy Program. Tuesday, Feb 10th at 2:30pm. Carol Whitmer from the CT Historical Society will present “Do You Know Who Your Ancestors Are? An Introduction to Genealogy”. Hear how genealogy begins at home, and learn about some of the basic sources of information and where to find them. No registration is required.
