Friends and volunteers of the Durham Fair were treated to a party at the Fairgrounds on a beautiful Friday evening. Hamburgers and hot dogs were on the grill and the party goers brought desserts. This event was part of a continuing effort to get more local residents involved in growing the Durham Fair community.
Part of the celebration included the presentation of some new artwork that will be showcased at the 2013 fair. Two visual pieces were presented. With over 700 votes tallied, the winner of the Durham Fair Poster contest was announced. Contest winner, Sue Cummings of Durham was on hand for the unveiling. The exhibitor guide dedication poster was also presented to first responders that keep our communities safe throughout the year.
The event drew a nice crowd who were entertained by music from The Jackson Hill band. According to Deb Huscher, marketing liaison for the fair, "It's our goal to reach out to our local community. It's their energy and enthusiasm that continues to make The Durham Fair Fair the amazing event it is."
