Tighter Enforcement Planned of No Parking on Durham's Maple Avenue

The road, north of the Town Green, has a sharp turn that makes visibility difficult.

DURHAM, CT - No parking along both sides of a portion of Maple Avenue in Durham will be more tightly enforced, following a recent decision by the Board of Selectmen.

The portion of the road in question is north of the Town Green, which traditionally has been a no parking zone. Residents have often ignored that fact, reports the Meriden Record-Journal. New, permanent no parking will be installed to help keep cars from parking along the stretch.

Additionally, the selectmen approved new guidelines for how the green will be utilized, including measures to protect its mature trees.
