Town of Durham, CT - Emergency Broadband Benefit and Eversource Programs

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

This program offers up to a $50/month discount on your Internet bill and a discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer if at least one of the following are met:

• Student(s) in the household receive free or reduced-price lunch;

• Household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain government assistance programs;

• Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year;

• Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29, 2020;

• Meets the eligibility criteria for a participating provider’s existing low-income or COVID-19 program.

Two Steps to Enroll

•  Go to www.getemergencybroadband.org  to submit an application or print out a mail-in application.

•  Contact your preferred participating provider to select an eligible plan and have the discount applied to your bill.

Eversource Programs

Eversource is alerting customers that the moratorium on service disconnections for non-payment will end for non-hardship residential customers in Connecticut on September 15, in accordance with state regulations.

Customers can learn more about all the available payment programs at www.Eversource.com/BillHelp . Electric customers should call 800-286-2828 while natural gas customers should call 800-438-2278. More information on Eversource’s energy efficiency programs is available at www.energizect.com.
