Eversource Gas Line and EPA Water Line Project
Over the next few months, Laydon Industries, a contractor working for Eversource will be performing road repairs of the Town Roads in Durham as well as Route 17 and Route 68. Eversource is working with EPA and CTDEEP to perform the road repairs for both the gas line and water line projects.
Activities to be performed over the next few weeks include:
- Paving of Route 17, which should be completed by Aug 2, 2021.
- Milling and paving of Route 68, which may begin Sunday night, Aug 1, 2021.Please note that for Route 68, milling will be performed at night and paving will occur during the day.
- Re-compaction of trenches on Maple Ave north of Route 68, which should be completed by August 2, 2021.
- Re-compaction of the trenches south of Route 68, which should begin the week of August 2, 2021 and possible be completed by August 9, 2021
- Work that has been completed includes milling of Route 17, curb removal on Route 17, re-compaction of the trenches on Maiden Lane and Talcott Lane. Paving of Route 17 has also begun.
- Remaining work for which the schedule is not yet set includes:
- Raising the water line valve boxes and the Town catch basins on Maiden Lane, Maple Ave and Talcott Lane, which will be performed just before these roads receive the 2-inch pavement overlay.
- Driveway aprons and topsoil along the road edge, which will be added to match the new road height.
