During the holiday season, the Town of Durham and volunteers prepare Thanksgiving baskets for families and individuals in need. Stresses from financial difficulties, unemployment, medical problems, and other personal or family issues can often create unanticipated hardships.

Donations Needed

Donations of turkeys will gratefully be accepted on Thursday, November 18th from 8:00AM – 9:00AM at the Durham Activity Center. Please call Morgan at 860-349-3153 if interested in donating a turkey.

We are also accepting Thanksgiving related foods for the baskets such as cranberry sauce, stuffing, canned vegetables, and instant potatoes. Please drop off no later than 9AM Thursday, 11/18.

Gift cards (Walmart, Stop & Shop, Visa, Gas) always needed and appreciated.

Families or individuals having difficulties are encouraged to call the Durham Human Services office to apply for a Thanksgiving Basket no later than November 10th.
