Town Of Durham: Update For Road Restoration In Durham For September 17, 2021

Eversource is working with EPA and CTDEEP to perform the road repairs for both the gas line and water line projects.

Eversource is working with EPA and CTDEEP to perform the road repairs for both the gas line and water line projects. Laydon Industries, a contractor working for Eversource will be performing these road repairs of the Town Roads in Durham as well as Route 17 and Route 68. Route 17 in Middletown will also be milled and repaved up to the Talcott Ridge Drive.

Work to continue into week of Sept 17, 2021 (work was delayed due to recent storms - work items for this week are the same as the previous week):
• Installation of traffic loop detectors will continue thru early next week.
• No work during the Durham Agricultural Fair.
• Remaining work which is expected to be completed in October 2021 includes:
o Raising the water line valve boxes and the Town catch basins on Maiden Lane, Maple Ave and Talcott Lane, which will be performed just before these roads receive the 2-inch pavement overlay.
o 2-inch pavement overlay for Maple Ave, Talcott Lane, and Maiden Lane.
o Driveway aprons and topsoil along the road edge of Town of Durham roads, which will be added to match the new road height after paving is completed.
o Paving a short section of Packinghouse Road.
• Work that is complete includes:
o Milling and Paving work on Route 17 and Route 68 is complete.
o Curb replacement and line striping on Route 17 and Route 68.
o Re-compaction and repaving of the water line trenches on Maiden Lane, Talcot Lane, and Maple Ave north of Route 68 is complete except for a short section of Maiden Lane at the Ball Brook Stream crossing.
