The prize, linked to East Hartford Noble, continues a streak of sizable wins tied to local retailers, though lottery officials have not released the winner’s identity or purchase details.
   

2. CT-owned intersections are getting video detection upgrades. What that means for drivers (courant.com) — Drivers in East Hartford should expect weekday lane restrictions as the state upgrades traffic signals at Burnside Avenue and Hillside Street with new video detection cameras and radar. Starting Oct. 17, the work aims to reduce delays and improve safety, with construction running weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through a multi-year project.
   

3. UConn falls to 2-2 with road loss to Miami-Ohio (wfsb.com) — After a tight 24-21 road loss to Miami-Ohio dropped UConn football to 2-2, the Huskies return to East Hartford next Saturday for a home game at Rentschler Field against Syracuse at noon. The team started strong but couldn’t sustain its offense, setting up an important bounce-back opportunity for local fans to attend.
   

4. Can Connecticut's new 'noise cameras' finally make loud cars enforceable? (newstimes.com) — East Hartford has approved an ordinance allowing automated “noise cameras,” but town officials say they haven’t yet explored how or when to deploy them.
