• Fire breaks out at East Windsor condominium, officials say (ctinsider.com) — Firefighters quickly knocked down a condominium fire on Folkstone Road in East Windsor Wednesday afternoon, containing heavy smoke and flames within about 30 minutes and preventing injuries. Crews also cleared smoke from neighboring units and are working with local and state fire marshals, along with East Windsor police detectives, to determine what caused the blaze.
   

• Connecticut inspector suspended after interactions tied to funeral home owner accused of $1M theft (nhregister.com) — An East Windsor funeral home once owned by Philip Pietras is among several sites tied to a long-running alleged theft of more than $1 million in prepaid funeral funds. A state health inspector who previously worked for Pietras served a 30-day unpaid suspension over misconduct related to interactions at one of the homes, even as Pietras now moves toward a plea deal on reduced charges.
