1 Killed, Several Injured In Boating Accident On Connecticut River

The fatal boating accident occurred just before 7 p.m. Sunday.

PORTLAND, CT — One person was killed after a boating accident on the Connecticut River Sunday evening, media reports state.

Several others were injured, according to NBC CT. State officials are investigating the single vessel boating accident, NBC CT reported.

The accident occurred just before 7 p.m., the Hartford Courant reported. The identity of the person killed has not been released.

A total of eight people were on the boat, including two children, WTNH News 8 reported. Seven people were taken to the hospital and one adult is in critical condition, News 8 reported.

The boat struck the shoreline and everyone on board was thrown into the water, News 8 reported.
