Abused Niantic Horses Hoped to Help Veterans With PTSD
The horses were seized back in February from an East Hampton facility.

NIANTIC, CT- A couple from Alabama are using horses seized by Connecticut officials in an animal abuse investigation to help veterans, Fox 61 reported.
The couple, Dan and Amy Thomas, bought two horses through a state auction and picked them up last week, according to Fox 61. Dan had worked previously with horses to help with his recovery after losing sight in his right eye in Afghanistan.
The couple hopes to replicate the program for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, as reported by Fox 61. The animals were two of 32 horses seized from an East Hampton breeding facility in February.
