EAST HAMPTON, CT — A tree worker was injured after being struck in the face by a large falling branch in East Hampton Monday morning, according to police.
East Hampton police and the East Hampton Ambulance Association responded to 185 Wopowog Road around 8:49 a.m. Aug. 17 for a report of a tree worker who had suffered a facial injury with severe bleeding.
First responders found an Asplundh Tree Service crew cutting and trimming trees in the area, police said.
According to police, one employee was using a bucket truck to trim trees when the employee cut a large branch. The branch fell to the ground and struck another employee in the face.
The injured worker was taken to Hartford Hospital by the East Hampton Ambulance Association.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration was contacted and was responding to the scene, police said.
