East Hampton Decides on Land for Town Hall, Police Station Complex After 35 Years of Discussion

The project will cost an estimated $15 million to construct and years to complete, but it must first be approved by residents.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - East Hampton officials have finally decided on a spot for a municipal complex that has been in the works for years, the Middletown Press reported.

The decision comes after three decade, or more specifically 35 years, of discussion, according to the Middletown Press. The council voted Tuesday to locate the new Town Hall/police station within the Edgewater Hill development.

The council had previously considered an 8-acre parcel of land off Bear Swamp Road for the location, the Middletown Press reported. The project will cost an estimated $15 million to construct and will take 24 to 30 months to complete, but it must first be approved by residents.
