Hazardous Weather Outlook for East Hampton, Portland: Fog, Snow, Intense Cold
If your house's pipes are prone to freezing, now is the time to prepare for that possibility!
The recent colder temperatures (not counting Sunday’s warmth) were just a preview of what’s to come this week. The following forecast is from the National Weather Service. A dense fog advisory was issued until 7 p.m. Sunday night.
- Sunday, Jan. 4: Showers, mainly before 10 p.m. Areas of dense fog before 1 a.m. Low around 32. West wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 28 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Northwest wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
- Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 13. Northwest wind 5 to 13 mph.
- Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 24. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
- Tuesday Night: A slight chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Wednesday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 25. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 2. Blustery.
- Thursday: Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 15.
- Thursday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 27.
