Police Make Arrest Five Months After Fatal Accident

The fatal accident occurred on Tartia Road in East Hampton and claimed the life of 47-year-old Jeanne Urban of East Hampton.

An East Hampton man turned himself in pursuant to an active warrant for his arrest stemming from an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on May 30, 2015, at about 5:30 p.m. in the area of 156 Tartia Rd., East Hampton.

Jeanne Urban, 47, of 180 Tartia Rd., East Hampton, died as a result injuries she sustained in the accident. According to police, Urban was transported by Life Star Helicopter to St. Francis Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injures.

Darin Hurne, 47, of 180 Tartia Rd., East Hampton, was charged with:

  • Misconduct with a Motor Vehicle
  • Reckless Driving
  • Negligent Homicide with a Motor Vehicle

He was released after posting a $50,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear before the Middletown Superior Court on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 9 a.m. to answer to the aforementioned charges.
