Portland Man Claims “Gold” on $30,000 Lottery Prize
BREAKING: Anthony Lombardo Brings Home First Top Prize on "Diamonds and Gold."

ROCKY HILL, CT – Portland resident Anthony Lombardo was all cheers when he claimed his $30,000 prize on a winning “Diamonds and Gold” ticket.
Lombardo had seen a friend playing Diamonds and Gold and looked to try his own luck.
“I gave them [tickets] to my mom," Lombardo said, "and told her ‘Let me know if I win.’”

A frequent marathon competitor, Lombardo rides his bike every day to stay in shape. It was in the middle of his workout routine when Lombardo received a special phone call.
“My phone rang," Lombardo said. "It was my mom, and she said very calmly ‘I think you won a lot of money here.’”

Ecstatic, Lombardo turned his bike around and headed home to give his mom a big hug. Accompanied by his son, Lombardo happily told Lottery officials his plan for the winnings.
“I plan on buying a sit down tractor for my mom and we’re going to Lambeau field [for a Green Bay Packers game]," Lombardo said, "but first I’m taking my son out to lunch.”
For selling the winning ticket, Moon Mart located on 233 Main Street in Portland will receive a $300 check from the CT Lottery.
The overall odds of winning a Diamonds & Gold Prize are 1 in 4.30. Of the 4 top prizes worth $30,000, 3 remain to be claimed.
