Portland Residents to Vote on $10 Million Bond Issue on Election Day

Voting will take place at the High Street middle school/high school complex on Election Day.

PORTLAND, CT – Residents will be able to vote on a separate local issue on the same day they vote for their local and national leaders, the Middletown Press reported.

On Tuesday, residents will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed $10 million bond issue, according to the Middletown Press. The bond includes $2.5 million for improvements to various roads and another $1 million for sidewalk improvements.

The largest item in the bond issue is a $6 million appropriation for construction of a new Route 17 park, the Middletown Press reported. Voting will take place Tuesday at the High Street middle school/high school complex from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
