Route 66 Accident Results in Two People Injured [UPDATE]

A two-car accident resulted in a road closure.

Update: Sept. 23 at 6:02 p.m.

Two people sustained injuries after the Route 66 car accident earlier today, according to the Middletown Press.

Police identified the two to the Press as Portland resident Carissa M. Thisdale, 26; and East Hampton resident Chester W. Hinton Jr., 80.

Route 66 in East Hampton is now open, according to the East Hampton, CT Volunteer Fire Dept.

A two-vehicle accident closed Route 66 in the vicinity of Lake Vista Road Tuesday afternoon.

The Middletown Press reports that one person was taken to the hospital. Fox CT reports that there was a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian near Paul and Sandy’s Too Nursery. The driver was seriously injured.
