3 Charged After Man Run Over, Seriously Hurt, During Sunday Fight: PD

New Haven man charged with felonies, and 2 others with lesser charges, after fight led to hit & run; victim has life-threatening injuries-PD

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police have charged three people after a man was run over by a car intentionally, police say, leaving him with life-threatening injures.

According to East Haven police spokesperson Capt. Joseph M. Murgo, Sunday night during a fight between two groups of people, a 29-year-old New Haven man drove a Honda Accord towards the man and hit him, trapping him underneath the car.

Members of the East Haven Fire Department extricated the man, and treated him on scene before being rushing the victim to Yale New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Murgo said.

Murgo said the driver, Anthony Kosko, fled the scene on foot immediately after but returned a short time later to speak with officers. He was immediately detained while officers investigated, police said.

The man's condition was unknown as of late Monday morning, Murgo said, and added that once the man's family has been notified, his identity will be released.

Kosko was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility resulting in a serious injury, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief. He was held on a $250,000 bail and faces a judge Sept. 13 in New Haven.

Murgo said that two others were also charged in the incident that happened in the area of Glen Haven Drive and Thornton Drive at around 9:30 p.m., Sunday.

Erin Lisej, 35, of Stratford, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief.

Tyler Paolini, 29, of Trumbull, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both were released on $2,500 bond and have a court date of Sept. 13.
