• East Haven Police Officer On Routine Patrol Interrupts A Drug Deal, New Haven Man Charged (patch.com) — East Haven police say a routine patrol on Frontage Road led to the arrest of a New Haven man after an officer interrupted a suspected drug deal in a parking lot. A K-9 search reportedly turned up numerous bags of suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with cash, and the driver now faces multiple narcotics and interference charges with a court date set for Sept. 9.
   

• Food Truck Among 29 New Businesses Registered In East Haven In August (patch.com) — East Haven saw 29 new businesses register in August, signaling fresh economic activity and new services for local residents. From Habibi Mexican Grill's mobile food offerings to a new pho restaurant and interior design firm, the mix of LLCs ranges from home remodeling to cleaning and commercial landlords.
   

• Gas prices hit record high for Labor Day weekend (wfsb.com) — East Haven drivers are feeling the pinch as Connecticut's average gas price climbs to $4.28 per gallon, higher than the national average this Labor Day weekend.
