Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center 15th Anniversary Events

WHAT:           This April, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center celebrates their 15th anniversary through Archaeology of Mystic battlefield events. Visitors witness confrontations from the past through an exciting series of events. Free with Museum admission and free to Museum members.

 

WHEN:          Wednesday, April 17, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Archaeology of the Mystic Battlefield Site

Visitors discover Mystic Fort, the infamous battle site of May 26, 1637 with Museum researchers. Guests view the film, The Witness (30 minutes), at noon or 12:45 p.m. in the War Theater. From 1-2:30 p.m., our battlefield experts will share new evidence and maps revealing what really happened during the battle in the Pequot War Gallery. Free with Museum admission and free to Museum members. This is a special event in commemoration of the Pequot Museum’s 15th anniversary.

New Witnesses to the Pequot War

The battle and massacre at the Mystic Pequot Fort has been called one of the 10 days that unexpectedly changed American history. Guest join Pequot War researchers Dr. Kevin McBride and David Naumec in the War Theater to watch a 40-minute program produced by the History Channel. Kevin and Dave share new insights about the battle and war based upon their archaeological and historical research. This is one of the Museum’s not-to-be-missed programs marking the 15th anniversary. Free with Museum admission and free to Museum members. This is a special event in commemoration of the Pequot Museum’s 15th anniversary.
