Columbus Day Parade Details Announced
East Haven officials say there are more than 1.6 miles of excellent spectator viewing areas available. The parade is Sunday.

East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. and Paul Criscuolo, President of the Columbus Day Committee of Greater New Haven remind spectators that this year’s Columbus Day Parade, which is being hosted in East Haven, has over 1.6 miles of excellent spectator viewing areas for the expected two hour parade.
The parade will start at the intersection of Short Beach Road and Hemingway Avenue; proceed down Main Street through the west end of town until AMF Circle Lanes at 525 Main Street. Traditionally the largest crowds occur on Main Street from the Town Green to Town Hall; leaving Hemingway Avenue and the West End of Main Street as less congested areas for viewing the parade. While Hemingway and Main Street will be closed during the parade, there are plenty of parking areas on the intersecting streets of these main thoroughfares.
