Double East Haven Pool Hall Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Wounded: PD

At around 1:30 a.m. at Bullseye Billiards, a fight led to a shooting where two people were shot, one died at the hospital, police said.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A bar fight at a downtown pool hall spiraled into a shooting that left one dead and one injured, police said.

Officers responded at around 1:30 a.m. to BullsEye Billiards & Bar, 655 Main St., East Haven, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, it was determined that an altercation inside the bar turned physical and ultimately led to a shooting, East Haven Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo said.

Two victims were located on scene and were treated by East Haven Fire Department personnel before being transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. One of the victims later died at the hospital, police said.

Late Saturday morning, Murgo confirmed for Patch that the person killed was Julius Bolden-Loew, 26, of Southington.

Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad arrived at the scene Saturday.

Murgo said East Haven police, in the area as it was bar closing time, arrived shortly after the shooting inside the “packed” bar and pool hall. An officer “encountered” one of the victims who’d been shot, he said. Murgo said the victims were both male.

Murgo said multiple firearms were recovered at the scene.
