East Haven based NGO sends 11 orphaned and vulnerable children to school in Tanzania

With back to school season already on its way, September marks an important month for East Haven based NGO, The Small Things (TST). TST is a U.S. and U.K. registered charity working in Tanzania, supporting the orphaned and vulnerable children of the Nkoaranga Orphanage and its surrounding community. This school year, TST is sending 11 children aged 5+ years to school through its Pilot House Program. The program ensures that all 11 children are housed, fed, educated, clothed, and physically and emotionally cared for, ensuring their happy and healthy development.

This program is only possible through the support of sponsors and donors from all around the world. Almost all the children are fully sponsored, with only little girls Neema and Miriam being partially sponsored. While TST would love to send all of their kids to school, TST needs help in sponsoring these two beautiful kids, helping to guarantee them the opportunity for a better and brighter future.

About Neema

Neema was born healthy and a normal weight, but sadly her mother passed away during delivery. She was care for at the Nkoaranga Orphanage, as her father didn’t have the resources to raise Neema on his own, though he would regularly come to visit. After a few years, her father was able to take Neema home longterm. As Neema is school-aged this year, she will be staying with her father on the weekends, while attending school during the week through the Pilot House Program. Neema is very sweet, friendly, smiley, and loves new people. Sponsor Neema today to start developing a relationship with this special girl.

About Miriam

Miriam can be very shy and quiet at first, but she is an extremely sweet and loving kid once she gets to know you. This school year, she will be joining the Pilot House Program to start her very first year at school. Sponsor Miriam today to support her education and healthy development.
