EAST HAVEN, CT —East Haven’s election season is heating up.

East Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Jennifer L. Ruggiero, 44, a Democrat, is running for election to the Town Council, Fifth District.

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

East Haven has ongoing quality of life issues that must be addressed. However, the single most pressing issue is that our town infrastructure has been neglected and we are in need of a qualified individual who is dedicated to addressing the issues at hand head on for the benefit of our towns economic growth and development. East Haven is in need of a Mayor that is accessible.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Our town and its residents are the focus for all candidates. I, however, have no self serving agenda. My agenda is to serve our town and its residents with honesty and integrity.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

My top priority as Town Council will first and foremost be the concerns of my constituents. I will make myself available to address any and all concerns. In addition, I will be watchful during budget time to keep taxes low, do all I can to eliminate blight in our neighborhoods, and make sure that our roads and athletic fields are properly maintained for our residents.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Earning a college degree well into my thirties while juggling a family and a full-time job is a testament to my will.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

When I commit, I give 100 percent commitment. Therefore, I intend to work tirelessly for the betterment of East Haven.
