East Haven Candidate Profile: Nicholas R. Palladino Town Council

EAST HAVEN, CT —East Haven’s election season is heating up.

East Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Nicholas R. Palladino, 63, is a Democrat running for reelection to the Town Council, Second District.

Two years on BOE six years on Town Council

The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

The summer parking problem at our town beach for the residents of district 2. My fellow Democrats on the Town Council have an entire plan designed to cure this issue.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

One of the Republicans running is building a winter home in Florida another is hoping for a part time job in town hall. The third is new to the political scene. They all appeared to be Maturo supporters in the past. One has switched parties many times and one switched parties after being elected.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

I am an honest person that cares about East Haven. I have always been a moderate Democrat. I am not looking for any Town job for myself or any family members. I will not be and have never been a rubber stamp for any Mayor or political party. I have always voted for the best of the Town and will continue to do so.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I started the first DARE Program in East Haven in 1990. Have been on the Town Council for the past 6 years.

Never ask a question if you are afraid of what the answer might be. (From my father)

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I will always try my best to improve our Town.
