UPDATE: East Haven Police Provide Details of the Murder/Suicide on Foxon Boulevard
Three children including a one-year-old who live in the home were not present during the murder/suicide.

East Haven police said Wednesday that Ingrid Del Rio–Garcia, 37, and Guillermo Rodriguez, 43, were the two people found dead from apparent gunshot wounds 9:30 p.m. Monday in their 82 Foxon Boulevard house.
A family member flagged down a patrolling police officer and said they had not had contact with Ingrid Del Rio–Garcia in about 24 hours and that they were concerned for her well-being as she was normally active on social media, police said Wednesday.
Officers went to the residence and knocked but did not receive a response. At this point, officers looked into the residence through the window on the door and saw a male lying on the floor, police said.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad was called in to assist East Haven Police Detectives in the investigation.
Three minor children ages 15, 9, and 1 were not present during the incident and are safe, police said.
“There is no reason to believe anyone else is in danger. Autopsies of the deceased were completed and the preliminary information received from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Del Rio–Garcia’s death a homicide, and Rodriguez’s death a suicide,” said Police spokesman Lt. David Emerman.
The official cause of death and additional details will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s office upon completion of their report.
They had lived in the house for approximately 5 years, and investigators learned they had been together for over 10 years, police said.
Three firearms were recovered from the scene including those which investigators believe were used in this incident.
The firearms were lawfully registered to Rodriguez, and he had a valid Connecticut pistol permit.
There is no prior history reported at this address, and neither party had any prior contact with the East Haven Police Department.
